COLODAN
What is Colostrum?
Bovine colostrum
Today we know that bovine colostrum is essentially bioidentical to human colostrum.
A cow produces more colostrum than the new-born calf needs. Therefore, it is possible to utilise the surplus colostrum for dietary supplements for human use.
Bovine colostrum has a high nutritional value and is rich in natural, bioactive substances, including immunoglobulins, growth factors, peptides, and protein essential for the calf’s growth and immune system development. Up to 24 hours after calving, bovine colostrum contains immune substances in such high levels that it is interesting to utilize the surplus amounts for dietary supplements. We always ensure that the calf gets the necessary colostrum before using the surplus amount in our production.
How does colostrum work?
Biodane Pharma has a close collaboration with the dairy farmers supplying the colostrum for the manufacturing of ColoDan. All suppliers follow current recommendations that the calf receives 4 litres of colostrum immediately after birth in order to get the nutrients and bioactive substances essential for the best start in life. Biodane Pharma only receives any surplus colostrum available after the calf has received the necessary amount.
What is the difference between ColoDan and other colostrum products?
The composition of ColoDan matches the natural composition of colostrum – nothing added, nothing removed, except for water. Most other colostrum producers typically remove fat and add carbohydrates and other additives.
ColoDan also differs from other colostrum products in that Biodane Pharma supplies the product to leading researchers studying the health benefits of colostrum (read more here). We supply ColoDan to universities and hospitals studying the effect on the stomach/intestines and on the immune system.
How does ColoDan Colostrum taste?
ColoDan® Colostrum with added cappuccino or vanilla powder flavors provides a pleasant flavor to the drink.
Are there additives in ColoDan Colostrum?
ColoDan Colostrum with Mocha and Vanilla flavors are made of the same quality of colostrum powder. Additives in a form of flavors have been added to provide the customer with a difference taste experience.
What is the recommended dosage of ColoDan?

Colostrum has a high protein content
Colostrum contains animal milk proteins in the form of caseins and whey proteins of high biological value. This means that they contain important amino acids in an easily absorbable form for the body. Colostrum is also rich in immunoglobulins, which play an important role in building the immune system. Finally, colostrum contains more than 100 other bioactive substances (immunoglobulins, growth factors, antimicrobial compounds), of which many are proteins.
